The Braves 1st grade outfit was lookin sharp although bad news that Barney was to miss 3weeks( from the judiciary late the night before ) was playing heavily on the minds of the star studded outfit, but to the credit of the braves they battled on!!

The game kicked off at a frantic pace with both sides straight on the attack!!

Beno wonderin if he should have put his red boots on!!

The braves looked sharp wit the new game plan working well but same as reggies earlier couldnt find the back of the net!!
Nil-all half time seen an animated speech from newly recruited coach John Menke had the braves fired up the second stanza Which had early rewards as a free kick forty out on the eastern touch line had Pezza come out of nowhere to get a delicate touch past the keeper for a well deserved goal!! Not long after the boys finished celebrtaing Pezza's heroics, Dan (Mr fitness) Blacka was finding the back of the net himself for more celebrations!!! That was as far as the braves went with celebrations as Tathra edged back into the game with a goal that peter czech would have give the NOD. Another goal followed to bring it back to 2-2 and the braves having plenty off chances as the game slipped away Final score 2-2.

With slight controversy after the second Tathra goal wit Jimmy Campbell realising the goal scorer had not signed the card!! Wait to here more from that 1!!!

With only 1 week left to practice his photograpy Barney will be back to fighting fit to pull on the royal blue strip against the grass hoppers the following wk hang in there boys

V tathra

The braves reggies kicked off the day and got off to a nervous start, with the Fox (wilton) trying too rev the boys up saw them get a bit more ball and were lookin dangerous everytime they had it but just struggling to find the back of the net (dont worry boys it'll come). Nil- all at half time saw the braves hit the attack a little more but the result went the other way and Tathra snuck in a scrappy goal, but to the boys credit they kept attacking seeing some good ball in the opposing half, until Allan (Shearer) Mitchell got a nasty kick in the side of the face {off what everone else seen as a high foot except the main man Jimmy (Whistle power)} had him seeing stars and sitting the rest of the match on the sideline, dont worry Al we play em next wk aswell. This brung Adam blackie Blacka out of goals and the braves continued to attack but all to no avail final result seen the braves down in a thriller...
Keep hittin that training paddock boys improving out of sight from wk to wk and a win is just around the corner!!!

Young AL on the end of a tathra highfoot!!

Game on for 09!

It was a balmy day that greeted the Braves dow to Eden football park on Sunday for the Braves opener for 09. Missing Braves Supremo JMac who was off on a honeymoon jolly on Hayman Island, the Braves had an embarrassing amount of numbers available for the day and it was hard to leave any of the lads out of the starting 16 for the day.

Coota was rich with youth and experience, but the Braves had been working hard at training for the game, so came along with some confidence of taking the three points. It didn't take long for the Braves to settle into their passing game and the possession started to pile up for the dark blues.

The forst goal came from a carefully rehearsed set play from a Jake the muss corner. Jake hoked it along the ground and Dunko made a strike at goal that made Jake's corner look good. It was a good thing that Blackie's reflexes were better and he stroked it home nicely for the Braves first of the season.

Party on baby!

A better bunch of boys you would never find...

Saturday saw the Braves converge on the Kammy golf course for a hit, moved onto the bowlo for a bowl and then onto Maz's crib for a barbie and some more drunken shenanigans including fireworks, a bonfire which they had a permit for and some other explosives fun.

Al wore his medal for Coaches pet, Pez wore his straw hat which obviously hampered his golf game. His team did win though. Unfortunately, despite their best efforts, Mcloskeys team was unable to hit anyone else with their golf balls. The Kammy Open was to be held the next day and the first groups out would have been puzzled by the amount of balls the boys wacked around the first and second fairways before we buggered off. A little pyrotechnics show in the car park before we headed into Candelo city.

Bowls was entertaining for a while- Buzz and Paddy joined us for a couple of hours there- always good to see the lads. A bit of gambling followed, despite the wailings of the lady who had gambled her savings away previously in a display of distraught tears. Donnie has some support group cards if you feel you have any such problems. a quick game of stick where Paddy tried to pick a fight with Donnie was followed by some abuse of the choclate machine before the Braves headed off to Bemboka.

The trip was punctuated by some individuals throwing stuff out of Maz's car at the car behind- no injuries resulted, but much mirth was had. JMac dropped the hammer and soon put an end to their fun. We'd run out of stuff to throw at you anyway.

Back at the pub for a quick stop, keg pickup and off the boys headed for Maz's party shed. Fireworks, orange gun, barbie, movie, BWF (Bemboka Wrestling Federation), and the bonfire(which we had a permit for) followed.

A great day for the Braves which is sure to follow Sunday when some of the boys will look to return and clean off the keg.

Big thanks to Maz for organising the day and the shirts which look great. If anyone wants one we might be able to get some more done.

Cricket time I guess. Over and out for a few months.

Maz plans end of season weekend perfectly

The one lass who did come along drank Dunko under the table...

This Saturday sees the Braves celebrate a 'could have been' year out at Kammy golf course, Candelo Bowlo and back to the Bemboka Pub to mop up. maz timed the weekend to coincide with the Bye the Braves Cricket team had in the first round of the competition- a stroke of genius there from him.

Gunna start gathering at the Pub from 0930 onwards with a projected leave time for golf around 10ish.

Bring your drinkin hat and $35 for your shirt, BBQ and the keg afterwards..

The boys are looking for particularly strong performances from medal winners Crouch and Al, so get stuck in boys. First to spew goes home with a prize( a new Braves shirt with vomit down the front).

Go you drunk and disorderly Braves!
